RENEE & JAX

Jax was diagnosed at 18 months old with Cerebral Palsy & at 4 with Autism & Intellectual Disability.

We knew that Jax wasn't developing typically as compared to his peers & that's when we made numerous trips to Edmonton for medical appointments to start our unknown journey.

Hearing these diagnosis is what no mom wants to hear as you feel your world is turned upside down. Luckily I found this amazing support group with other moms going through similar situations.

They truly understand the struggles & challenges we all face. I have made so many special friendships that will last a lifetime & I'm
very blessed that our kids have a common bond with each other. To see them progress it's just beyond heartwarming.

Now at 7 years old Jax has met many milestones which gives us such a unique pride.

We celebrate the teeniest & tiniest ones as these special moments are miraculous to us!

BARBARA & JOSHUA

Joshua was born September 27, 2009.

He was just perfect, beautiful blue eyes and blonde hair. We bought Joshua home and the journey began .

When Joshua was just a few months old we knew things weren't right, he wasn't reaching his milestones and decided to take him to see a doctor.

Joshua results came back saying part of his brain didn't develop during the 2nd trimester, which resulted in a diagnoses of Cerebral Palsy, being only a few months old we had no idea what quality of life he would have.

I knew as a mom I would need support from other moms in similar situations and we had heard about Support 4 Mom's when Joshua was around 3 years old, friends I have made in this group will be my friends for life, we are so much support for each other , and watching the kids together will melt your heart ❤️,

I will be forever grateful to find a group like this one that truly understands our needs and struggles.

CHRISTAL & EVERETT

I started Support 4 Moms Society in September 2013 after my son Everett was born and we received a diagnosis of Down Syndrome.

Once we received this diagnosis a whole new world opened with many trips to Edmonton to see specialists and various testing.

During this time I was feeling very isolated and alone so I started to see what support was offered to parents like me and quickly realized there was no support available within our community to many parents of different diagnosis.

I made the decision to start a group for moms open to all diagnosis so no one would feel like I did whether they are waiting on a diagnosis or getting one upon birth like we did.

Everett is now 5 years old and this group has been amazing, the wonderful moms and children I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know has been one of the greatest things to have happened in my life and has been a true blessing.

MANDY & OLIVIA

At 3 years old, my daughter Olivia was diagnosed with Koolen Devries Syndrome,

a rare deletion on her 17th chromosome.

We knew Olivia had some delays but we were not expecting this diagnosis.

No one we encountered had ever heard of this syndrome and I felt very alone. I started attending the support group meetings as I began working through my emotions, and I found such supportive moms who understood our struggles.

Talking to others who had been on this journey for a while was so helpful and encouraging. Now, a few years later, it is amazing to see how much each of the kids have grown and progressed, and we are all cheering each other on.

I am so grateful for the friendships this group has brought into mine and my family’s life.
